When buying childrens’ books, I tend to look at the quality of both the illustrations and the quality of the writing. A good book for young children is one that teaches a good lesson, and is enjoyable as a story like “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. Books last forever and may be loved into adulthood.
